About Mrs. Santore

Welcome to 4th Grade!  My name is Mrs. Santore and I am the Math teacher for all students at Springfield Clifford N Pritts Elementary.  I have been teaching 4th grade for 11 years.  I am a graduate of Connellsville Area School District and I actually attended elementary school at Springfield Elementary.  I attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where I received a BA in Business.  However, my heart was always in education, so I went back and received my Masters degree in Elementary Education and have been working in the Connellsville Area School District since I graduated.

I believe in creating a classroom that is comfortable and collaborative.  With that spirit in mind, you will notice that our classroom is a flexible seating classroom where students can choose (following the flexible seating rules) the location and seat that works best for them.  There are couches, chairs, beanbags, desks, stools, and rugs for the students.  These options allow students to be by themselves when needed, or to create a group or work with a partnership when needed.

I believe that students will learn more from well-designed, collaborative activities with their classmates than they will ever learn from a teacher lecture or presentation.

This classroom allows the flexibility to complete different types of activities either by themselves or with classmates.

I also believe that 4th grade students should be using technology within the classroom in all subject areas.  I am a Level 1 Google Certified Educator and I use Google Classroom, Google Forms and many other types of technology each day.

Most importantly, I want students to feel welcomed, important and enthusiastic about learning when they come into our classroom. I will always do my best to ensure that each student becomes his/her 4th grade best!
